This is nice…

Skal was created by the Olso School of Architecture and Design. This is a media player that uses real objects to interact with digital media. Skal is a bowl (skal, means bowl in Swedish). It uses a wireless sensor to detect RFID tags attached to individual objects that are then placed into the bowl. Skal can play all kinds of digital media like movie-clips, Flickr and Youtube etc.

Why we likey: Skal is a cute little thing, but it has greater potential than that. For learning purposes it has great potentioal to help children learn in a more playful way. Imagine having numbers to learn math or pictures so children could create their own versions of the story shown on the TV.
