For worlds AIDS-day some of the biggest celebrities on Twitter has switched off their Twitter accounts and Facebook pages in an effort to raise money to Keep-a-Child-Alive foundation to fight HIV/ADIS in Africa and India. Some of the celebs that are taking part in this campaign is Lady Gaga, Usher, Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys and Elijah Wood who all gives one last tweet and video testament to inspire donations. They won’t use either of the channels until they have raised $1 million. The donations can be done via the website or by textmessage. You can also buy a Save-a-life T-shirt via the website with a scannable barcode on it. When people scan it with their phones, they get the option to donate as well.

Why We Likey: There is a nice truth in peoples need to use Facebook and Twitter and having them give it up, when most of us use them several times a day. The celebrities have around 30 million followers put together and to “kill them off” is a creative way to get attention. The site has gone done several times due to all the people trying to donate.
