At some unspecified and largely unremarkable point in the last decade, innovation overtook integration as the industry’s chosen ‘mot du jour’.
Since that point there has been endless work-shopping, soul-searching and no small amount of wool-pulling to ensure that agencies can present themselves as having genuine innovation coursing through their corridors.
So, what does it take to be truly innovative? Four years ago when we set up Saint, we had the opportunity to build something from scratch and it was critical that in doing so, we ended up with a business that really walked the talk when it came to innovation. We started by looking at businesses that had for a long time displayed a real track-record of both embracing and displaying innovation.

No, not a double rainbow.
Even more special than that, Saint@RKCR/Y&R picked up “Creative Agency of the year” at the NMA effectiveness awards last night. Meaning we now have ‘agency of the year‘ status from the two leading digital marketing publications.
Adam Graham, Managing Director at Saint@RKCR/Y&R said: “This is a monumental achievement of which we are all tremendously proud. It is made even more special by the fact that we have now ‘done the double’ by gaining ‘Agency of the Year’ status at both the Revolution and the NMA effectiveness awards. 2011 has already been a fantastic year for Saint and we have some great work going through the agency right now, so we feel very confident about the future”.

Following the Saint press ad that is featured in this week’s Campaign magazine, developer Paul Scanlon created this interactive game for us.
Using your webcam, you can play against a friend and aim to get points by hitting the mouse with the red bats.

About 7 weeks ago, we built a little shelf by the reception area entrance, on which we sat a lego box that housed a big green button and a big red button.
We invited you to register whether you were having a good or a bad day, and that was it. We wanted to get a feel for the vibe of the office, and offer up some views on what might affect our office happiness, and we thought we’d share some early results.
So far, we’ve had a whopping 2,153 presses of the unit. This might explain why it kept breaking so frequently at the start – it seems to have become more robust with age, or maybe people are learning not to punch it.
